Andover
The first community in Henry County, Andover was founded in 1835 by Rev. Ithamar Pillsbury, a Presbyterian Minister.  It was patterned after New Haven, Connecticut as a seat of learning, religion and commerce.  The town is full of Swedish history and is home to the famous Jenny Lind Chapel, where some of the first Lutherans in America landed.  There are museums full of history and the historic Doll House Cafe offers great home-cooked meals.

Orion
Founded by Charles Wesley Dean and plotted in 1853, Orion is named for the constellation.  Orion boasts one of the finest small town festivals in Illinois, the Orion Fall Festival, and has a number of attractions throughout the year including a major car show.  It is the home of the Orion School District and a new $9 million Middle School.  It is also the home of one of the largest banks and car dealerships in Henry County.  In addition, the village offers nice parks and various recreational opportunities, as well as great restaurants.
